How can intrusion protection, event verification and automation work together? That was one of the topics we discussed with installers and industry partners at Security Essen 2026. At the SATEL stand, we presented BE WAVE control panels, 4G LTE communication solutions and AI-powered technical support.
From 22 to 25 September, our stand welcomed both installers familiar with SATEL products and professionals discovering our brand for the first time. They asked how the devices work, how they can be integrated and how they can be used in specific installations. The fact that SATEL solutions are designed and manufactured in Poland also attracted interest.
Security Essen brought together 900 exhibitors from 49 countries. Together with the concurrently held Euro Defence Expo, the events attracted around 30,000 visitors from 96 countries.
BE WAVE: protection, verification and response
In Essen, we presented the HYBRID 128 Plus, HYBRID 128 and WIRE 128 alarm control panels. They allow installers to choose a system architecture suited to a wired or hybrid installation and combine intrusion protection with building automation.
An important topic was how to check what is happening at a protected site after an event is detected. BE WAVE works with compatible cameras via ONVIF, allowing users to view images and determine what triggered an alarm. The system can also communicate with external solutions via MQTT and link events to automation scenarios.
Certification and compliance with standards are equally important to installers. All BE WAVE alarm control panels, as well as Smart HUB controllers, have Grade 2 certification. In Germany, this family of standards is known as DIN EN 50131 and provides a reference point when selecting alarm equipment.
The importance of certification and compliance with standards was also reflected in the Security Monitor 2026 survey results presented at the opening of the trade fair. As many as 78% of German respondents reported a strong need to feel safe. For the first time, independent product certification was the most frequently cited purchasing criterion for private customers choosing security solutions: 38% mentioned it, placing it ahead of smart home features.
4G communication: time to prepare for the 2G shutdown
We also showcased SATEL communication modules that support 4G LTE. These solutions are particularly relevant in light of the planned shutdown of 2G networks in Germany. Deutsche Telekom has announced that it will discontinue this technology on 30 June 2028.
For installers, this is a signal to check which systems they maintain rely exclusively on 2G transmission and plan upgrades well in advance. The choice of module depends on the installation configuration and the communication channels in use.
Polish technology and the people who help put it to work
During the trade fair, visitors could speak with our export and technical support teams and try SATO, SATEL’s virtual AI assistant, which helps users find product information. Having specialists at the stand made it possible to move from general questions about our range to discussions of specific applications and installations.
