XLI Metrology Conference in Gdańsk

The Chair of Metrology and Information Systems of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, Gdańsk University of Technology, was organizer of the XLI Intercollegiate Metrology Conference MKM 2009. The Conference was held from 31 August to 2 September 2009 in Gdańsk, under the patronage of His Magnificence, Prof. Henryk Krawczyk, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, as well as the Metrology and Science Instruments Section of the Polish Academy of Science PAN and President of the City of Gdańsk Paweł Adamowicz.

Traditionally, mainly young scientists and postgraduate research students presented their achievements within the framework of the Intercollegiate Metrology Conference. Representatives of many Polish and some foreign universities were among the invited guests. 62 persons participated in the Conference and 49 scientific papers were presented during its thematic sessions.

Visiting the didactic laboratories of the Chair of Metrology and Information Systems was also part of the Conference agenda. Among other things, the Laboratory of Alarm Systems was presented to the visitors and aroused particular interest. The Laboratory of Alarm Systems has been provided with equipment designed for building intelligent alarm systems by SATEL Sp. z o.o., one of the sponsors of XLI MKM 2009. In the laboratory, during presentation of the functioning of alarm systems based on CA-5 and INTEGRA 64 alarm control panels, topics related to the security and protection of people and property, as well as security systems of smart buildings, were discussed.
